hey everyone,
thanks for the prayers.........feeling a little more groovy today...
as for cynical view of 'art cinema'. it's true that that tag is used to
excuse really, really bad films but there is sooooo much more!!!!
i gravitate, not so much towards the conceptual stuff which is interesting
in it's own right more more towards the stuff of the heart...........
norman mclaren, and robert breer have made some of hte most beautiful pieces
i have ever seenon film.......both very childlike in there approach, both
very sensual in the literal sense..........for a celebeation of colour check
out the nearest university/public library and see if you can find mclaren's
'boogie doodle' or 'begone dull care' (oscar peterson sound tracks) or
robert breers "LMNO", 'rubber cement' or 'recreation'. they are so fun and
so beautiful.........pure poetry.
speaking of poetry.........any suggestions? poetic prose or otherwise?
surely some of you have a stash somewhere hidden in the dearest rooms of
your mind.........
