Re: Over-The-Rhine Digest V2 #717
MS asks:

Did someone already answer this? I guess I could be wrong, but I was
under the impression that when IRS went under the rights to the old
albums _did not_ revert to OtR. That's the problem; I think if OtR had
the rights, they'd go ahead and press some CDs and print some booklets.
If I'm right (an' I'm fairly sure I am), then it's a lame, lame
situation. IRS offs itself and the back catalog goes to some sort of
warehouse for lost albums. Like at the end of _Raiders of the Lost Ark_
when they put the ark of the convenant in that big warehouse. If they
get signed, the signing label will prolly buy up the back catalog and
re-release it (cross yo' fingahs). Otherwise, the Detweiler collective
can eventually get the music back, but there's actually some corporate
cat somewhere who they have to pay. Am I wrong? Does somebody know
more? _Somebody_ knows more. C'mon. Say.
G'day,
