My friend Randy Boyd, who runs a recording studio out the back two rooms of
his house on a whim pulled his Mini Moog out of storage in his garage and
patched it in with his other vintage synth gear (his Emulator and Mirage
samplers from the 80's, an old Yamaha workstation/keyboard, etc.). Within a
week of bringing it out of mothballs, nearly every band that went though the
room was using it. It's got some great tones.
And I just downloaded a program off the net called "Rebirth" that emulates
all those great Roland analog synths from the late 70's/early 80's, the 808
Drum Machine and 303 Bass Synth, particularly well. Not that I know how to
use any of that.
