Re: Over-The-Rhine Digest V2 #255

Well, I caught the show last night in San Francisco (my first chance to
hear the new stuff live). It was really neat. For anyone ever going to
SF, I highly recomend attending a show at the Warfield if for nothing
else than the keen job the do with lighting in every show. When I saw
Portishead there a few months back, I was blown away by all the neat
effects they acheive with lighting.

Anyway, the show did not disappoint. Karin looked cuter than ever. The
highlight I suppose was "Anyway" which was done with much emotion.
Apparently the song is about her half sister Rose who she met for the
first time at her father's funeral...anyway, her half sister was in the
audience last night (along with alot of her family) so it was very
emotional. I was right up front and I swear during Poughkeepsie (which
was right after Anyway), Karin had a couple tears welling up in her
eye.

I didn't stick around for Cowboy Junkies and i hope i didn't miss
anything spectacular. I got in for free so i felt no obligation to get
my money's worth by seeing CJ...besides it always takes forever and a
day for the headliner to come on after the opening act...i guess i was
just impatient (I guess i'm perpetually waiting for that infernal clock
to strike 9:30).

I sure hope OtR comes back to the bay area soon...but this time as the
headliners so i can hear, among other songs, Goodbye again.
  Swingfully,
    Nathan
