Saturday, it looked like they had people plugged into the board and
around 3 mics up there along with a video camera.  My whole experience
is that often a venue can change those policies too - e.g. Schubas not
allowing taping, even if the band likes it...

This reminds me, what is the band's official policy on taping? It sounds
from this post that they're okay with it, but I'd hate to blatantly whip
out a DAT recorder tomorrow night only to be thrown out on my ear.
