Subject: book age
so
our flower girl is around 8, and i was trying to think of a good gift that
she won't outgrow.
while in abookstore, i saw a few Lois Lowry books, in particular - The
Giver. a personal favourite of mine since about that age.
i was 8 when i read it. i still read it. there was alsoa companion book
'Gathering Blue', and another one i hadn't seen before - The Silent Boy
i can't jsut judge what she is up to reading-wise based on what i read,
since i was reading chapter books when i was 4.
does anyone have an opinion?
they are good books - not cute or sweet, but about life and it's hardness,
and the beauty of choices.
anyway - i don't want to give her somethign stupid or too old for her
