thunder storm

minor weather report from a flat and surprising MidWest town you might
know:

late last afternoon, after the humidity had built to a point that kitten
was attacking cat for twitching, and i was fed up trying t o pen them up
in order to sew on my dress, i heard fat plop-plop as the rain started
coming down.

two immediate priorites presented themselves in conflicting order...
windows, or turn off new stereo setup...

torn between the two, i finally decided that music could wait (the world
could wait - it was playing) and acted.

racing for the windows, i threw them open, along with the back door,
turned off the stereo, unplugged it and continued washing dishes.

the lilac bush outside the kitchen sent in a warm rainy lilac smell that
overpowered the dishsoap smell, and the pounding from the tin roof on the
back porch sounded rather nice.

in between washing and rinsing, the thunder was so loud, i almost broke
yet another glass, but managed to refrain, for which i am glad - sinc ei
seem to be breaking a lot of dishes lately.

momo proves himself ot be a continual loud-noise-coward, and salto is
extremely curious about anything she can get her tiny paws on, and was
happy to take up his spot in the window, watching rain drops fall, and
chasing the ones that came in through the screen.

thunder storms are nice when you have a roof to make music from the rain.

Frequent lock ups are a symptom of not enough memory but only in the
way that nosebleeds are a symptom of gunshot wounds to the head.
