Yes, Patty, Schubas is a club. Or it's club-like. Well, kind of. See for yourself at www.schubas.com.
You only have to be 21 to get into the later show. OTR plays 2 shows--7:30 and 10:30--and you only have to be 18 to get into the early one.
Schubas is not my favorite Chicago venue, but I plan to be there this time.
Oh, and also, I have evangelized to the list before about Edie Carey, but I must do it again. Go see her live. She's really good and a total sweetheart. If you have the opportunity, see her play with her touring buddies when they tour as Live From New York (with Anne Heaton [playing Schubas the week before OTR], Teddy Goldstein, Andrew Kerr, and Sam Shaber).
Also, has anyone heard of Martha's Trouble? They're Canadian. They opened for Anne Heaton the other night here in Chicago. All the songs they played sounded the same, but I loved her voice.
