Re: Top __insert #___ of 2001

<rem--i like the way reveal resembles parts of their
older sound. back to the roots.>

i fully agree with this, but it also brings in a feeling of newness, whereas up was rem tryin to get into something new that had an older feel, this time i think they knew where they were going - don't get mewrong, up is still a good disc, but hope, for example, is the closest i've seen to rem covering leonard cohen's suzanne (cohen co-wrote hope also)...the up tour was fantastic, esp. covering neil young.

<******i'd add portishead's dummy to that little area
of musica i enjoy.>

can't forget their self-titled second record, and their dj (andy smith's) sets. check out the document, if you can, it's not the typical dj mix, it's so much better. i don't think that they released his second disc, showtime, stateside, but i got a promo copy from him before he left toronto when i saw him in may, and imo, it's better than the document

another great cd that i feel incredibly bad for not getting it make my list is pretty together by sloan it reinforced my hope that rock isn't truly dead - see them live if ya can.

i'd like to recommend more discs, but i feel like i'm on the verge of spamming for this topic, so i'll shut up now.
