Don't be discouraged and don't apologize.  I too get a
little cynical about mass forwards, but I've also ran
across several that have been encouraging.  
To think that all this has brought that result with
your friends is worth wading through 6 million mass
emails.  
You're right, people on the list are looking for
things to pick apart.  I have found that the people
who come across as the most intelligent and
knowledgable are often the most clueless.  Don't let
their cynicism and arguments (mine included) dampen
your heart.
