goshen.

so i feel obligated as a (somewhat dormant) listee to at least try to remember what i heard and
saw tonight...i attended the goshen show with a friend from, uh, goshen...most of you probably
didn't know people really live in places like that, but it's true...in fact, i'm sure that i know
more people from a small podunk town in indiana (the aforementioned goshen) than i do people from
minster. (!)anyway, for those of you planning to attend shows in the near future, you'll probably
see some semblance of the following:...well, the venue was, i'm sure, not common...ok, it was a
gymnasium...i'm told that other areas on campus are currently under construction and it was the
best that could be done...it had a very distant cold feeling, the seats didn't even begin until
about twenty feet from the edge of the stage...the players... k & l...karin was wearing red pants
and a red and black top...all tight...linford's hair is getting longer again, was a little poufy,
he wore an orange shirt and an olive-y mr. rogers cardigan...i swore upon entering that if linford
was wearing leather, i was leaving. jack (looking very dukes of hazzard pimp) in his shaded
glasses, and jeans cuffed up to mid-calf...then there was the becoming-usual chris donahue...who
reminded me a lot of moby...and the drummer from sixpence...some people think he looks a little
underage--but his cherubic looks in no way hinder his talent.i didn't have a pen, so i couldn't
write down the set list, but it included some if not all of the following: (in absolutely no
particular order)anything at allmothmy love is a fever (best i've ever heard)poughkeepsieanywayall
i need is elatter days (second encore)goodbye (first encore)if nothing elselittle blue riverand
can it befairpoint diary (no toy piano)faithfully dangerous (fabulous)i think there was more, but
it's fallen out of my head by now...the basic mood was very light and fun...there were lots of
screw-ups...karin screwed up the first lead in to the chorus in moth, swapped the second for the
first (and my answer to the years of strife--if i ever lose my will to live)...k & l laughed a lot
about that one...jack played a bad chord once and got a quizzical look from linford...i was amazed
the dual encore..i haven't seen that in a long time...linford kept leaving the stage with his
water bottle and sweater, and every time they did an encore, he'd bring that water and sweater
right back with him...comical...also, one of linford's brothers was there...the new cd was
not...although, i've heard some people already have copies somehow...it was definitely one of the
better shows i've seen in a long time...and included a strange, laughable anecdote about karin and
linford's honeymoon in the great metropolis of goshen, indiana...they stayed at das essenhaus (a
mennonite hotel/restaurant)...they bought a rocking chair at the shipshewana antique auction...i'm
sure mr. temmesfeld will grace us with a fine review of bogart's...i expect a full report from
bink on the taylor show...and who's going to the wheaton one?definitely plan to catch this
tour...they're mixin' up a lot of stuff, adding new twists here and there...it really makes things
nice for those of us who hear the same songs over and over...that's all i have to say..
really...bruce, get your butt up to dayton. i'm tired of the empty promises. (it's that moderate
town several kilometers north of you)mgn.np. nothing of consequence.
