Sigh. As I was just telling the inimitable bink ("I'm gonna marry that man
one day!"), I'd love to go to the show. I really would. He even already
bought a ticket for me, kilted wonder that he is.

Unfortunately, my mother is going in for some fairly major, though blessedly
uncomplicated (from my lips to G-d's ears, as they say) surgery on December
8th. And as my Dad said earlier tonight, "We all have to rally 'round Mommy."
This is not a statement with which one can argue. Not that I'd want to, of
course.

This is gonna be the first time a member of my fam is going in for major,
sit-at-the-hospital-and-wait surgery. Well, there was the kidney thing with
Dad, but that wasn't serious and I was only two at the time so what did I
know? This is going to be icky-- I was sitting and watching Buffy last week
(shut up-- i like it!) with her Mom in the hospital getting a CAT scan and
going in for surgery and the kids roaming the halls with glassy eyes and
haunted expressions. And it struck WAY too close to home, the fact that I am
neither petite nor blonde nothwithstanding. Though I do have a pretty mean,
shoulder-high kick. And the Pointy Boots of No Forgiveness, of course.

Anyone want to come to the Philadelphia show on the 15th?
